Abstract
Muscle strains, or muscle or tendon tears, are common injuries, caused by overuse, overstretching, or rapid acceleration or deceleration against resistance. These injuries range from mild (grade I) to severe (grade III). Depending on the severity of injury, these may resolve spontaneously with time and supportive treatment, or they may require surgical repair, immobilization, and rehabilitation. The diagnosis is generally made clinically as a result of a thorough history and physical examination.
