Abstract
Radial head fractures, generally occurring after a fall onto an outstretched hand, present with pain at the elbow and limited range of motion with extension, pronation, and supination. They can be subtle or radioccult on plain films, but the presence of a "sail sign" can alert the clinician that a fracture is present. For nondisplaced or minimally displaced fractures, treatment includes over-the-counter analgesics, sling for comfort, and early mobilization. Displaced fractures may require orthopedic intervention.
