Abstract
Chemosis of the cornea can be visually disturbing to the patient. Visual acuity should not be affected, and the patient may have ocular pruritus. Topical and systemic antihistamins can help, as this is usually a result of an allergen or mild chemical irritant. Follow-up with ophthalmology can be considered in severe cases.
