Endoscopic plantar fascia release with two-portal technique (see text). A, Medial portal is determined by extending line distally along posterior aspect of medial malleolus, where it intersects with medial origin of plantar fascia at calcaneal tuberosity. B, Lateral portal is made by placing blunt trocar superficial and perpendicular to plantar fascia. C, With ankle dorsiflexed and toes extended, medial aspect of plantar fascia is released with hook knife. D, When appropriate amount of plantar fascia is released, underlying flexor digitorum brevis muscle can be seen.
