Less invasive stabilization system (LISS) plate technique. A, Letters are used to identify distal plate holes; numbers are used to identify diaphyseal plate holes. B, Lateral incision. C, In complex intraarticular fracture, lateral parapatellar approach is necessary. D, Insertion guide has tendency to tilt toward floor. When positioned properly on lateral condyle, insertion guide is internally rotated approximately 10 degrees to femoral shaft. Plate position is adjusted if necessary. E, Kirschner wire inserted through stabilization bolt.
