When proximal femur is small, with pseudarthrosis between femoral neck and shaft, it can be stabilized to create better lever arm. Simultaneous knee arthrodesis can be performed to create one-bone leg. If possible, medullary fixation should stop just short of proximal femoral epiphysis.
