A, Osteotomy for femoral deformity. Loose cemented femoral component and osteolysis caused excessive varus and anterior bow. Standard long-stem prosthesis cannot accommodate deformity without fracture of femur. B, Transverse femoral osteotomy corrected deformity. Extensively porous coated stem gave excellent axial and rotational stability at osteotomy. No external immobilization was necessary.
