Harris four-wire technique of reattachment of trochanter. A, Two vertical wires are inserted through hole drilled in lateral cortex and come out in groove cut in neck of femur so as not to interfere with seating of collar. Two transverse wires are inserted in holes in lesser trochanter and in two holes in osteotomized greater trochanter. B, Two transverse wires are tied over two tied vertical wires. One transverse wire can be used instead of two.
