The Cole method of anchoring tendons to bone. Ends of wire suture are passed on a straight skin needle through a hole drilled in bone. The needle is drawn through the skin on the opposite side. Wire sutures are anchored over a rubber tube or button. To prevent necrosis of the skin when the suture is under considerable tension, ends of wire may be passed through the bottom of the cast. Subsequently, wire is anchored over the button on the outside of the cast. SEE TECHNIQUE 1.4.
